True dat.
HOWEVER--I would predict Anderson has monster game against at least one of either Texas or KU. If he does, and OSU wins either of those games, he's probably locked POY.
That being said I live in Austin and they'll be gunnin for Big Game down here. They have their own "James" down here, I wouldn't be surprised at all of Damian James went off Wed. night. Pokes really need to show up and give horns a game. They've blown us out last two trips to Austin. Pokes better not lay another egg or they could go into another funk.

Calling out? I've paid my time in Blacklist Hell--I'm sure I'll be there a few more times before I kick the bucket!!!!
Incidentally--I'm working on a story right now called the Bucket List for Oklahoma...
any ideas? ie--what are the 50 things every Oklahoman should do before they "kick the bucket?"
For instance--
1. Watch the sun set over Black Mesa
2. Two step at Cains
3. Eat cheesy fries at Joes

Just saying that on a list of 50 things to do before you die, one wouldn't be eating cheese fries at Joe's. Hell, I can think of 1,000 things made in Oklahoma that I'd rather have as my last meal.

That's true--they're way overrated!
OK Carl--name five things every one should do in Oklahoma before the "big one"

I'll add a few to the list...
* Take a float trip down the Illinois River.
* Visit Philbrook and Gilcrease Museums (can do both in a day)
* See an OU football game at Memorial Stadium
* See an OSU basketball game at GIA (preferably a Bedlam Game)
* See Leon Russell at the Brady
(Oh - and James Anderson should be Big 12 POTY - little doubt of it today)

He should be but it might be hard with OSU finishing in the middle of the pack. James is the best player but Collins could get it with KU going undefeated in the conference.

Fried Chicken, Okra and beer at Eichens.
Round of golf at Karsten Creek, one of the sweetest courses in the nation (too bad it costs hundreds of dollars to play).
Storm chasing.

I'm an OSU guy and agree to a certain extent that Karsten is "better" than Jimmie Austin. However--at Karsten they could care less if anybody besides the players ever played it again. That's a training ground for the best D1 golf program. It's like Ou football practice fields--it's there for the scholarship players, the rest of us they could give diddly squat about. Jimmie Austin on the other hand hosted the USGA Publinx. It's a Perry Maxwell course (same as Southern Hills and Dornick) totally open to the public and a very good walker's course, welcoming, encouraging and inviting to general public, the type of course we need more of in America. It's also a great practice facility (range and shortgame areas) besides being near campus and home to Sooner golf teams. Honestly it's just one of my top 10 golf experiences anywhere and I've a played from coast to coast. As much as I enjoy Karsten, I would much rather play five rounds at JA for the price of one at Karsten. Karsten off the tips is a monster. JA from the back tees--a fair test for anyone who can drive it 250 (and keep it in play) with some iron game.

you really shouldn't compare the two courses. Austin is a public course, and is very nice. Karsten is beyond beautiful and beyond difficult. and as far as karsten not caring about people, other than the OSU golf teams, playing it? not true. there are memberships to be had, they are just limited. there is a bulls eye, w/ the middle being Karsten/Stillwater. the rings around the center represent an area (w/in miles) they only allow so many people memberships from each ring. don't know if that makes sense

That's true kro. Don't get me wrong--it's the greatest thing that ever happened to OSU. And yes memberships are availiable (outside the radius--Holder didn't want to destroy the membership at Stillwater Country Club). And the Boone cottages are available to members and guests when Boone's not using them. But the point I'm making is the fees are exorbitantly high not to pay for the course or maintenance (that's endowed) but basically to restrict play. Karsten exists for one purpose: proving ground for national champions and future tour professionals. The rest is secondary. That being said I can strongly recommend anybody to visit the pro shop or have lunch at the grill next time they're in Stillwater. That's all open to public--and one of best bacon charburgers on the planet. But if you're going to play--have to be guest of a member and ready to pay the full load--what are green fees now $200/ round?

The grill and pro shop are in the same room--public welcome. Right across the main room is the hall with all the trophies and All Americans. Every Poke should own a Karsten cap or visor.

i do enjoy playing at ou's course, i hate the fact they took it to $75, $50 is kinda my limit for golf around here. i love the course, it's just i have played Karsten 2x, ($75 1st time) back in the day and it was just an awesome experience (played form the tips) got to experience a lot of the course that day. i was talking just comparing courses not the other things around it. i do hate that osu now charges i think $300 to play, just stupid. i know they are trying to keep the rounds down, but come on.... just peed because i don't have the $$$ to play there.
